I built OrderSmarter because I kept watching independent restaurant owners get squeezed from both sides: rising food costs and distributors who charge whatever they want because nobody can see what anyone else is paying.

The Community Price Index started as a simple idea: what if restaurant owners shared their invoice data anonymously so everyone could negotiate from a position of knowledge instead of blind trust?
